Jefferson County unemployment went up from 4.8 percent in April 2012 to 5.3 percent in May 2012. Berkeley County unemployment for the same period decreased one-tenth of one percent to 7.3 percent, and Morgan County unemployment increased from 6.8 percent to 7.3 percent in May 2012.  Hampshire County unemployment remained unchanged at 6.6 percent.

Unemployment in West Virginia stands at 7.3 percent, up from 6.9 percent in April 2012.
