The state Division of Motor Vehicles plans to open its new Martinsburg regional office on July 9.

The 9,000-square-foot office is larger than the existing facility and has a motorcycle-testing area. It’s also closer to neighboring Morgan County. The new location will reduce the travel distance for Morgan County residents who need to get a driver’s license or other services.

DMV spokeswoman Natalie Harvey tells The Herald-Mail ttp://bit.ly/LPUzvR ) that the existing office will be closed next week so the agency can move into the new building. Area residents who need services can go to the DMV’s regional office in Jefferson County.
