You put the snow shovel away?!?

18 March 2016 Weather

You did, didn’t you? Someone did, and now Old Man Winter feels like he has to prove something before we can get calendar Spring underway. There’s a chance of some accumulating snow for the EP overnight Saturday into Sunday morning, coinciding with the start of Spring at 12;31 AM. Count on a rain/snow mix at least, both at the start on Saturday night and again by midday Sunday as temps move back up through the 30s. It’s the window of about 2AM-8AM Sunday that brings the best chance of a couple of inches of heavy, gloppy, sloppy snow that will melt quickly into Monday as highs get back into the 40s.

So, no big “Snowmageddon” for us, happy to let New England have the bulk of it this time…could be 6-10″ general coverage in a band through the Boston / NYC areas. Here’s out forecast through the weekend and into next week:

Friday: Sunny and breezy. High near 60.         Friday night: Clear and cold. Low 31.

Saturday: Sun in the morning, clouds increase in the afternoon, chance of a late day shower or sprinkle. High 47.

Saturday night: Rain develops, then mixes with snow through the late evening and becomes all snow overnight. Potential for a couple of inches of heavy, wet snow accumulation by sunrise. Low 30.

Sunday: Snow early, mixing with and changing back to rain before ending later in the day. High 37-40.

Monday: Sunny and dry. High 46.         Tuesday: Sunny and seasonal. High 53.         Wednesday: Sunny and warmer: High 62
